A Big Thank You.

           The Eagles finished off a very rough 61 st season very well.The team and rookie GM and Head coach all had some highs and lows to the season along with a very large learning curve for GM Lee Kemp and Coach Rick Potter.Next season is shaping up to be a little easier for everyone.Rick Potter and Lee Kemp have both promised to return next season along with some key players from last season.

      As for the 2008 - 09 season none of it could have happened without the help of some very dedicated people.Im not sure how long Billy Wright has been with the Eagles but I do know that many things could not get done without his time and effort.Billy is a very busy man with many projects on the go but always had time for Kemp and the rest of the Birds.Mike Bennet was another person that had to feild many calls from Kemp asking for advice.Bennet also acted as the teams main fundraiser and team treasurer.Tracy Walker stepped on board this year as the teams President which was very much appreciated.Walkers fundraising and management skills were put to very good use and were a great asset to the organization.Randy Graham was also a director that was able to jump in and help with beer gardens and giving advice on how to deal with players and coaching staff.To all of the board of directors I thank you,without your help and commitment this team would cease to exsist.

       On a weekly basis there were a few other people around town that helped Kemp keep this team running and they deserve some real  credit aswell.Liz and Brian Bennet of The Leg Man for all their hard work keeping names on our jerseys.Mrs Begg for keeping those same jersey sewn up and in one peice.Tracy and her staff at the Liquor Barn for all of the ice for the beer gardens.Shawn and her staff at the 7 Day Liquor Store for keeping the beer gardens well stocked.

     Some major season sponsors for the year also worked on weekly basis to help the Eagles out in every way they could.Quinn,Sherri and the staff of the Innisfail Tim Hortons were very important players in every Eagles road games,we really hope to be able to work with you again next season.

    Lori of the Central Alberta COOP was probably getting anoyed with us by the end of season but always greated me with a smile and a helping hand.Thanks Lori the boys were very grateful for your time.

   The players would also like to commend Rob and Kim Gette of the Fox and Hound for the pizza and beverages after practices.The Eagles current and past rosters are forever indebted to you.

   Every home game we had the luxury of having atleast one parent and sometimes two from Joys School of Dance come down to the rink and Help Billy Wright work the door.

     In the next couple of weeks we will publish a full list of thank you's.I would just like to finish by saying thank you to all of our fans,sponsors and everyone who has had to read my articles all winter.

    Lastly for anyone who doesnt know the Bently Generals were finally crowned Allan Cup Champions on saturday.
