Birdies, Blades and Bragging Rights: 2025 Tournament Wrap-Up
That’s a wrap on our Blades & Birdies Golf Tournament which was held at Innisfail Golf Club, and what a day it was!
The tournament was a complete sell-out well ahead of schedule, with 148 golfers filling the course in support of the Innisfail Eagles. Despite a light rain that lingered through parts of the day, spirits were high and the laughs were louder.
This wasn’t your typical day on the fairway. Our Happy Gilmore Hole had golfers taking a run-up swing just like the movie - complete with style points and with some great stick action as golfers putted in with hockey sticks.

Throughout the course, teams were met with fun challenges (like making their drive wearing hockey gloves), sponsor-hosted stations, a healthy dose of friendly competition, great prizes, and a silent auction. Newly branded as the Blades & Birdies Tournament - it offered up something for everyone.
A huge thank you to our generous sponsors - expecially our group of MVP Sponsors: Fire & Flood, Jules Oilfield, and Guy's Freightways, as well as Origin Partners and Dick's Trucking who each sponsored $20,000 hole-in-one's, our Early Bird Pub Night sponsors Building Trades of Alberta and Fox & Hound, hole sponsor Down the Middle Ventures, Brew sponsor Dark Woods Brewing & Coffee Roasting, Putt-to-Score Contest sponsor, Adrenalin Auto Group, Media sponsor 106.6 Rewind Radio, snack sponsors Tim Hortons and Paul's No Frills - and the many other businesses that donated prizes and silent auction items.
Our sponsors, volunteers, the many businesses who donated to our silent auction and prizes, and every single golfer helped make Blades & Birdies possible and profitable - raising over $15,000 for the Innisfail Eagles Senior Men’s Hockey Club.
Thank you, Eagles fans. You showed up big, and we felt it.
