The Happy Gilmore Hole is back!
Inspired by the classic hockey-meets-golf movie, this hole brings a little Eagles attitude to the course. Golfers will once again have the chance to throw on an Eagles hockey jersey, take a run at their tee shot, or try an old-school wood driver, and finish things off by putting with a hockey stick.
Some teams take it seriously. Most do not. That is kind of the point!

The Happy Gilmore Hole was a fun stop on the course last year, with plenty of laughs, competitive chirping, missed putts, memorable photos, and a few swings that probably looked better in the golfer’s head than they did in real life.
But that is what Blades & Birdies is all about.
This is not your standard quiet golf tournament. It is a full day built around great golf, Eagles hockey spirit, local sponsors, community support, and a few surprises along the way.
Along with some hockey-inspired elements throughout the course, golfers can still expect the traditional tournament favourites, including proximity contests, great prizes, and plenty of chances to compete with their group.
And this year, there is even more on the line.

Blades & Birdies 2026 will feature two $20,000 hole-in-one contests, proudly sponsored by Dick’s Trucking and Origin Partners. That means two different chances for golfers to take their shot at a huge prize while supporting the Innisfail Eagles and the community that continues to stand behind the team.

Whether you are coming for the golf, the laughs, the prizes, the hockey-themed holes, or the chance to say you outdrove your friends while wearing an Eagles jersey, this year’s tournament is shaping up to be another memorable day at the Innisfail Golf Club.
