What to Expect at the 2026 Blades and Birdies Tournament
If you have been thinking about registering for the Blades & Birdies Golf Tournament but you are not sure what to expect, here is the short version: You do not need to be a great golfer to have a great day.
Blades & Birdies is designed to be fun, social, and welcoming. The tournament uses a Texas Scramble format, which means teams play together, choose the best shot, and keep things moving. Whether you golf regularly, only play a few times a year, or are mostly there for the laughs, you will fit right in.
Like last year's sold out tournament, this year it will also be held at the Innisfail Golf Club on Thursday July 9th, and registration costs are $175 per player - and the Innisfail Eagles will deliver the value.
It Starts With Pub Night
The experience begins the night before with the Fox & Hound Pub Night, which is a great chance for golfers to have a casual get together before tournament day, check in early and get in on a door prize that will be drawn that night.
On tournament morning, golfers will begin the day with breakfast and coffee at registration, helping set the tone for a relaxed and fun day on the course.
From there, players will also receive snacks in their golf carts, compliments of Paul’s No Frills, making sure teams are fueled up as they head out for the round.
Since this is an Innisfail Eagles event, you can expect plenty of hockey-inspired fun throughout the course. Players will get to take part in feature holes and contests like the Innisfail Eagles Happy Gilmore Hole, the Platinum Fitness Hockey Glove Long Drive Competition, and the Pro Shot Hockey Hardest Shot Competition, along side other fun holes like the TNT Customs who have extra competition built in.
...and a little birdie tells us there will even be a will even be a $20,000 Hole-In-One opportunity.
Food, Drinks,Tastings on the Course and a Banquet
One of the best parts of Blades & Birdies is that the experience goes well beyond your scorecard.
The Central Alberta Co-op BBQ will be set up with an all-day smokie hole, along with spirit tastings. Golfers will also be able to enjoy tastings from Twisted Bitters and Silver Devil Spirits.
It is the kind of day where every few holes has something different to look forward to.
Side Games & Prize Opportunities
Teams can take part in the Blind Calcutta for a chance to win half the pot, golfers can Buy a Square for a chance to win the big prize, and purchase mulligans for those much-needed do-overs.
Even better, every mulligan purchased also gets golfers entered into additional prize draws at the post-game banquet.
There will also be a silent auction, tournament prizes after the round at the banquet and plenty of reasons to stick around after the round.
Built for Fun, Community, and a Great Cause
Blades & Birdies is not just about golf. It is about bringing people together for a fun day in support of the Innisfail Eagles and the community around them.
You can come for the golf, the games, the food, the prizes, the hockey-themed holes, or just a great day with friends.
However you play it, Blades & Birdies is built to be a day people remember.
So that's just a snapshot of what you can expect. As more sponsors come on board we will keep you updated.
Register your team today and join us for one of the most fun tournaments of the summer.
